Application Procedure

All of the following material must be received (not postmarked) no later than June 23rd, 2011.

All applications are confidential, and each applicant will be notified by email of his or her acceptance or non-acceptance as a candidate by July 1st, 2011.

All accepted competitors will be posted on our website: www.FloridaPiano.org

Upon acceptance, candidates must reply via email to Competition@FloridaPiano.org, no later than July 10th, 2011 of their participation. If no response is received, then an alternate will be contacted to take their place as a candidate. 

 

Along with the completed application form, please submit the following:

  1. A copy of applicant’s birth certificate or equivalent proof of age (passport, driving license, etc)
  2. Recent digital black and white photo enclosed in application and also sent via email (JPEG FORMAT ONLY) for use in competition program and materials.
  3. A short biography with clear indication of academic degrees and artistic achievement as well as current (if applicable) and former piano teachers (including master classes)
  4. A recent, unedited DVD recording of the applicant's performance of all the music chosen for the first round of the competition (see repertoire requirements). Please do not forget to put your complete name on the DVD.
  5. When possible, a Host Family will provide accommodations for participants only. Otherwise, participants will be financially responsible for lodging and food. You will be notified of availability as soon as possible.
  6. A non-refundable application fee of $125.00 in a cashier's check or money order (no personal checks) made out to: Florida International Piano Competition. International participants from outside of the USA can send a cashier's check in U.S. currency that can be obtained from your local bank or use wire transfer with the following:
